Nathan is a Welsh artist/filmmaker, based on unceded Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country (Canberra). His award-winning dramas, documentaries and design fictions have screened internationally supported by The British Council and Creative Europe. Encounters - the UK’s leading short-film festival described his work as ‘demonstrating a distinctive cinematic and artistic vision’. His diverse practice has encompassed an inclusive spectrum of audio-visual platforms, community cohesion, new technologies and site-specific theatre. Since relocating to Australia in 2021, his work embodies and reflects how it feels to live through this weird moment in space/time. Wry humour and picaresque metafictions skewer poignant absurdities of human folly and hydrocarbon hubris vis-à-vis anthropogenic climate collapse. Quixotic fables of loss, redemption, and eco-social trauma, refracted through abject materials and instinctive processes, produce ludic configurations of myth, mind and screen.
